003 – Perspectives
In this letter, I reflect on how photography shaped my perspective while traveling. I share why certain moments felt worth capturing, the story behind a photo from Iceland, and introduce my portfolio at photos.armandharani.com

Photography has always been my way of capturing the world as I see it. After traveling to more than twenty six countries and experiencing cultures, landscapes, and communities that shaped my perspective, I realized how important it is to preserve the moments that feel meaningful. Every place I have visited has taught me something, and photography became the way I held on to those lessons. Some moments happen quietly and naturally and I catch them with my phone. Other times I go out with intention, camera in hand, searching for the beauty that lives in the environments around us and in the people we are surrounded by. What matters most is being present enough to recognize when something is worth remembering.
The photo above is one of those moments. It was taken in Reykjavík, Iceland, using an iPhone 7 Plus on June 18, 2018 at 17:05:57. The building is Hallgrímskirkja, a church known for its towering, sculptural concrete design. I chose this photo because of what it represents. The way the structure rises upward and narrows into the sky creates a sense of perspective that is impossible to ignore. The lines draw your eyes toward something higher and the building feels almost endless as it reaches into the clouds. It reminded me that time is bigger than us, that the sky is the limit only if we choose to see it that way, and that there is always more above the surface than what we notice at first glance.
Experiencing places like Iceland and Switzerland taught me something that photography alone can never fully explain. People often say that places like these are beautiful. They are right, but seeing them in person is different. When I visited Switzerland for the first time, I understood this clearly. No matter how great a photo is, the most powerful lens anyone will ever see through is their own eyes. Photography can capture a moment, but presence gives it meaning.
This new Photography category is a place for me to share the moments I have witnessed and the perspectives that shaped them. It is also a way to introduce something I have been building quietly for a long time. My full body of work now lives at photos.armandharani.com. There you can explore my portfolio, view collections from my travels, and support my work by purchasing photos that resonate with you. I also offer custom shoots for anyone who wants something personal, intentional, and crafted with care.
Photography has shown me that beauty is never limited to one subject or one frame. It lives in the details around us, waiting to be noticed. I hope this space encourages you to slow down, look closely, and appreciate the moments that make life meaningful.
Thank you for sharing this view with me,
